The pixiv Novel Children's Charity Project "Book Santa 2024" is underway!

Starting on Friday, November 8th, we're launching the pixiv Novel Children's Charity Project "Book Santa 2024" in partnership with the Book Santa project, which aims to donate books to disadvantaged children throughout Japan.
Write a novel or essay on the theme of Christmas and post it on pixiv novels with the entry tag ""ブックサンタ2024"", and pixiv Inc. will donate 500 JPY for each submission to the NPO Charity Santa! Donated funds will be used for the operation of Book Santa and to cover the cost of purchasing books to donate to children.
We welcome both original works and fan fiction.
The total amount of funds donated will be posted after the event ends. We're looking forward to heartfelt support from all of you.

About Book Santa
Book Santa was founded in 2017 with the mission of donating books to disadvantaged children throughout Japan. Operated by the NPO Charity Santa, Book Santa partners with NPOs and booksellers throughout the country.
This charity program, "Books from Santa Claus", allows you to purchase books at partner bookstores that you would like to donate to children throughout Japan, then donate them at the register.
The program also offers a dedicated online bookshop and crowdfunding donation options for people who have difficulty visiting physical bookstores.
About the NPO Charity Santa
Charity Santa is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating lasting, cherished memories for children and fostering a society where adults work together for the benefit of children. It was founded in 2008 and received NPO status in 2014.
The organization runs various initiatives, such as Santa Claus visits, which are held nationwide at 41 branches in 31 prefectures, and a Book Santa program, in collaboration with 1,683 bookstores nationwide, to build a network to support children in poverty across Japan. The organization's efforts extend beyond Christmas, working year-round to provide meaningful experiences for children in need.

Theme

We're looking for novels and essays on the theme of Christmas - childhood Christmases or memories of Santa Claus, stories of Christmases in adulthood, stories of strange or funny presents, and more.

  • You can post any form of novel (short form, long form, series, etc.)
  • You can submit as many entries as you like, but understand that one post is considered as one work. One series counts as one work.
  • Incomplete stories are okay.
  • Only works with all-ages appropriate content will be accepted.
  • Both original work and fan fiction are okay. Other than novels, feel free to post essays, poetry, tanka, haikus, etc.
  • AI-generated works are not eligible for donations.
